I'm luck to have a 197 million square mile workshop, classroom, and plaground.
I’m an Assistant Professor at Olin College of Engineering where I teach mechanical engineering and design.
I’m passionate about bringing advanced technology to the general population, creating innovative learning experiences, and exercising my design skills to have an impact on global challenges. For example, for my Ph.D. at MIT MechE, I designed a solar-powered, water-saving precision irrigation tool for farmers in Kenya, Jordan, and Morocco.
Topics that excite me include the product design process, human-machine interaction, sustainable design, design team collaboration, STEM communication, engineering and design education, and experience design. On this site, you can see a collection of my teaching, research, and design work.
To see all of my professional experiences, please see my CV. Send me an email if you’d like to connect.
(P.S. 197 million square miles is the surface area of the Earth)
(P.P.S. To advertise a Plushie Design Workshop I lead each year in MIT’s Toy Product Design course, I built a 3-foot tall plushie bandsaw!)
